He lives on the other side of The Bridge, yet he insists on sticking his nose in Talbot's business. On his FaceBook page, he posted a history revisionist's version of what the Talbot Boys is all about. Below is my reply. "Anyone who has followed my career and my social media accounts knows that Talbot County is one of my favorite places in all of Maryland," wrote Peter Franchot in an opening sentence on his FaceBook page. The law is fairly simple. A business is defined as an "adult store" if more than 20% of its floor space, sales, and product inventory consists of adult merchandise. When the Red Light District Romantic Superstore opened for business at 521 North Salisbury Boulevard, in Salisbury, MD, the owners applied for a permit to put signage on the store. According to William Holland, director of building, permits, and inspections, the Red Light District Romantic Superstore does not meet the definition of an adult store and so has not approved the signage because of what the name implies. Mayor Jim Ireton jumped in the fray. On Monday, Aug 12th, WBOC News reported that Mayor Ireton planned on sending city representatives to inspect the store to ensure it is in compliance with the adult store definition, otherwise the store is not even allowed to legally open. Back when our Founding Fathers wrote our Constitution, the concept of medical rights barely blipped on their radar screens. Ok, that might have something to do with the fact that radar screens didn't exist back then, but let's be honest. Their medicine bags contained a bottle of whiskey, sassafras root, and a twig or two of willow. As COVID-19 liberally spreads itself into every nook and cranny of our world and our lives, we've had to learn new terms and put them to good use to slow the spread of the pandemic. A few weeks ago, I met with Delegate Adams to talk about my ideas for jury reform. For everyone who has been following my saga of jury reform for the last two years or so, yes, meeting with Delegate Adams is a big deal. I admit, I'm remiss on knowing who all of my elected officials are. It's a good day for me if I remember my boss's name and can put that name to the right face. Apparently Delegate Adams won the 2014 midterm elections since he assumed his current role in Jan 2015. I vote in every election so most likely I voted for him because I didn't know anything about any of the candidates running that year and party line voting is what I usually do when I know nothing of the candidates on the ballot. Susan Monday, our local talk show radio host and honorary Drunk Redneck (whether she wanted the title or not) is moving on up - and not just to the east side, but statewide and then some. Her show, The Susan Monday Show , still airs live out of Lewes, DE on WXDE 105.9 Talk Radio 9:00 am until noon, but is also simulcast on sister station WDEL 105.7 (FM) and WDEL 1150 (AM) . I'm Not Getting a COVID Vaccine...

Estimated read time: 11 minutes ...and I don't have to tell you why Ok, I'll be honest. By the time I finish writing this article, I might hop in my car and go get a shot. I might wait until tomorrow. Or next week. Or next fall. There's a thought. When I get a flu shot next fall, I'll kill two birds with one stone and get the COVID shot, too. At this point, the experts don't know if the COVID vaccine provides a lifetime of protection or if we'll need to have an annual booster shot like we do for the flu, so what's the rush to get a shot right now? For the last year, we've been told to stay six feet apart, avoid crowds, wash hands, and wear a mask. For long time listeners of WXDE 105.9 Talk Radio out of Milford, DE, Susan Monday has been a voice of reason over the years and endeared herself to many across Delmarva. Monday through Friday, SuMo, as her loyal listeners and fans called her, both challenged and entertained us. She was always there for three or four hours each day. For awhile, she even manned the mic on a split shift. She was our cup of coffee for two hours in the morning, breaking for an hour at noon so we could catch up on the news, then she was our afternoon tea and biscuits for two more hours. For Susan Monday listeners and fans, SuMo (as they affectionately call her) has been conspicuously absent from the WXDE 105.9 Talk Radio lineup. One day she's there. The next she's gone. No one dared speak her name. It's as if the new station owners wanted her wiped clean from everyone's memories. Since writing Goodbye to WXDE , the owners in Pennsylvania sold the station to Lord knows who and who really cares anyway. I stand by everything I wrote in that article. WXDE has become another divisive talk platform for racists and bigots and nothing more. That's one of the reasons why I don't link the station. Sumo didn't belong in the new mix. When our business leaders, planners, and politicians look at ways to revitalize local towns and rural areas, the usual proposed solutions are to find ways to bring more money into the community. Typical approaches to bringing in money involve promoting tourism, agriculture, corporate relocations and other forms of inward investments. What is often overlooked is the important concept of money flow within the community. Think of your local economy as a bucket and bringing in money to your community is like pouring water in the bucket. The bucket is going to have some holes in it and some of the water will leak out. Some of the holes can’t be fixed so you will always have a leaky bucket. The state and federal government will collect taxes, for example. Those are holes that can’t be fixed. Earlier today I posted an article stating Susan Monday can now be found on WGMD 92.7. Turns out, I was wrong. In my haste and excitement at the possibility of SuMo's return, I jumped to a wrong conclusion. I did not read her tweet carefully enough nor verified the information with her before reporting what I thought I knew. I offer my sincere apologies to Ms. Monday and to my readers I misled. Verifying one's facts before publishing a story is basic Journalism 101 and sound journalistic ethics. Just because I'm a drunk redneck pundit is no excuse to ignore the basics. As Ms. Monday explained in the comment section of my original article, she was a guest speaker on WGMD for one day: If you happened to catch her show the other day, I reckon it wouldn't hurt to let WGMD know how much you enjoyed SuMo and hope to hear more of her on the station.
